Pre-planning Public Consultation

Leeds City Council is working to deliver 1,500 high quality council homes over the next five years to meet increasing need in the city and to deliver on our aim to be the best city to live in.

The proposal

The Council’s appointed contractor, Wates Construction, is preparing a planning application to provide the new council homes on site.

We would welcome your views prior to submitting the planning application for the development, which will provide 55 units consisting of:

  • 1x 1 bed wheelchair-friendly bungalow
  • 1x 1 bed bungalow
  • 23x 2 bed houses
  • 17x 3 bed houses
  • 13x 4 bed houses

All homes will be let and managed by Leeds City Council.

Why this site was chosen

There is a shortage of affordable housing in Leeds, and this development will support the Council’s priorities of providing quality, affordable housing where it is needed.

All homes will offer very high standards for design quality, space and energy efficiency. The homes are designed for the future, and will be designed to reduce carbon emissions, improve air quality and to help tackle fuel poverty in the city.

In line with the Council's commitment to tackle climate change, the development will also include air source heat pumps and PV solar panels, both low carbon approaches.
