Consultation has concluded

The Greener Gipton and Harehills Campaign aims to create a greener ward with projects that both help to tackle the climate emergency and make Gipton and Harehills a greener place to live. To do this, we need your help!

We are currently in the process of developing a project plan for this exciting campaign and we want to hear from local residents to ensure that residents are at the heart of its development and delivery.

We had our third meeting on Tuesday 13th April 2021 from 5pm and our next meeting will take place on Wednesday 9th June. Please come along!

Please sign up for details of the latest opportunities to take part, updates from our meetings, progress on the campaign and most importantly, opportunities to shape the campaign.

We featured in the Yorkshire Evening Post on 13th January 2021. Check out this article to find out more about the campaign.

Potential Land for Woodland Creation

about 3 years

Please drop a pin where you think woodland creation would be an appropriate addition to an area on council land, which is shown on the map as land within the blue lines.

We recommend first using google street view and then selecting the corresponding site on our map.

There are associated checks associated with confirming an area is suitable for tree planting, therefore we cannot guarantee that all selected areas will be planted in the future.

If you see a site has already been selected that you are supportive of, please do drop an additional pin to show your support. The most popular choices will be taken through the associated checks. You can choose as many sites as you wish.

Whilst we cannot reply directly to pins, we will inform you of the outcomes of our checks during the April meeting and by adding a green pin to the map to show selected sites. Please do not add any names or addresses to these public messages.

To take part, click 'go to map', zoom into the area you wish to select and then add a pin by selecting the '+'  symbol on the top left. Drag your pin to your selected site and explain why you chose it.

Finally, in order to ensure that all can participate, if you struggle to use this mapping tool, please send an email to grace.lawrenson@leeds.gov.uk with your suggested site and reasoning and we will ensure it is added to the map and taken into consideration.

Thank you for taking part in this consultation.
