Consultation has concluded

Hi everyone,

This consultation is now closed. Thank you for participating and giving your comments.

We received lots of ideas and will share these with relevant services to see what we can take forward.

The key themes from the comments we were received were:

  • Can we do something to address any overgrown ginnels, banking and the removal of rubbish that can accumulate in these areas
  • A concern about speeding on Glen Road
  • The condition and the Beacon Grove garages and if this can be addressed
  • Various issues on and around the Glen Road playing fields including lighting, parking and overgrown footpaths

Actions taken have included:

  • two referrals to Community Payback to cut back the overgrowth on banked ginnels along Glen Mount leading to Beacon Grove, to remove litter and rubbish and to remove the overgrown bamboo behind the rear garden of 142, Glen Road. Unfortunately, the latter task still remains to be carried out although a reminder has been sent to Community Payback.
  • investigations into speeding concerns on Glen Road are continuing
  • investigations into the removal of garages on Beacon Grove have been delayed as we need to identify alternative garages for those who rent a garage on this site before the garages can be demolished.
  • unfortunately, there is no funding available to additional lighting around the Glen Road laying fields nor for additional parking in this location
  • the overgrown footpaths around the Glen Road playing fields do get cut back from time to time by Parks and Countryside - although with all the wet weather it is more difficult to maintain a tidy outcome

Many thanks again to everyone who took part in this virtual walkabout. Your participation has been valued and productive.
