Finalising report

Thank you for your participation.

Your Councillors are looking at your comments and are going to gain quotes for the ideas that you have suggested.

We will update you further once we know what is going to become your Welcome to Hunslet sign once we have the funding in place.

Kind Regards,

Your Voice Leeds

Hunslet grew from a small area at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution to a major industrial area only a few years later. The growing industries in Hunslet were not the textile industries, for which Leeds was becoming best known, but generally heavier industries such as steel and iron foundries, engine works and railway works.

Hunslet is proud of it's heritage and Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association (Hunslet TARA) would like to celebrate this by installing a 'Welcome to Hunslet' sign or feature.

The TARA have identified a patch of land on the junction of Low Road (A639) and Church Street.

Please register with this site and then tell us what you prefer.

Please use the survey and suggest Ideas below.

Here are some suggestions:

Flower Planter

Information Boards

Train Wheel feature

Bespoke Bench

Large train shaped bench

Hunslet in large letters with photos of the area.

Please use the survey and suggest Ideas below.

Thank you for your participation. We will inform you of the outcome and you will see the results as soon as possible.

More about - Hunslet TARA

Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association is here to listen to you and your community, to respond to ideas and help develop the area for the benefit of everyone.

We currently have a gardening group, community litter picking, a project for edible plants and plans for fun days. We would love for you to get involved. You can attend our monthly meetings (on Zoom for now) or lend a hand with running the group or planting some bulbs, whatever you can do to support please let us know.

More About - Community Committees

There are 10 community committees across Leeds. Each committee represents a different part of the city and is made up of local councillors from the wards in that area. Find your local Community Committee.

It is their job to make sure local people have a say in decisions about what happens in their neighbourhoods.

The committees also allocate money to fund community projects and youth activities. Find out How to apply for funding.

More About - Housing Advisory Panels

Groups of Housing Leeds tenants are given a modest budget to spend on small community and environmental projects across the city. Applications can come from community groups, councillors or individual residents. The main funding criteria is that Housing Leeds tenants must benefit.

The panel can't fund everything but we do try to get value for money and share costs where practical.

If you would like to know more or should you wish to become a panel member please see the links on this page on how to get involved.
