What is the Housing Register?

Anyone who wishes to apply for a council or some housing association homes needs to join the housing register.  Find out more about the Housing Register.

    What are the priority bands?

When you register a housing application we take a range of information into consideration.  This could be your medical needs, your housing conditions, whether you are homeless or any other reason that you need to be rehoused.

All applications will then be placed into one of four bands:

    • Band A - households who have an urgent need to move.
    • Band B - households who have a need to move.
    • Band C - households including those with a low or no housing need.
    • Band D - all other households including home owners, and households who have no connection to Leeds or are ineligible to be rehoused by the council
